The overall objective of the course is to train students to read and write critically. More specifically, students will learn how to tell the difference between fact and opinion, examine and construct arguments and logical structures, evaluate and use sources and evidence, avoid plagiarism and improve their general use of the language to demonstrate their academic position. The final grade for the course will rely entirely on continuous assessment and will be based on five takeaway assignments.
